Advanced Symphonic Band is Erie’s top daytime concert placement — more demanding literature, stronger individual accountability, and higher preparation standards than Veteran Concert Band.
Veteran Concert Band (also called Symphonic Band) is the advanced spring concert ensemble. Advanced Symphonic Band is the next step up from that ensemble when the director makes that placement for the year.
Students audition through the Symphonic Band process (Marching Band first semester; register for Concert Band / Symphonic Band as directed while awaiting placement). Final Advanced Symphonic seating comes from that audition pool and the director’s ensemble needs.
