After marching season, Erie’s concert program moves into the band room for spring-semester (and year-long) sit-down ensembles. Concert Band is a performance-oriented learning experience: class rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and evening performances are required. Previous band experience is expected for Concert Band pathways; advanced placements use auditions.

Symphonic Band is Erie’s advanced sit-down ensemble. It is designed for students with a thorough understanding of music fundamentals and performs quality literature from all stylistic periods. Wind Symphony is the next step up when the director makes that placement.
